Occupational Therapist

Job Summary

You will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. This position will serve the Minot area.

Responsibilities

• Assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.)
• Develop treatment plans
• Conduct evaluations/re-evaluations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Document thoroughly
• Provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients
• Evaluate patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.)
• Evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living
• Identify equipment needs and participate in the development of the total plan of care
• Develop treatment program and establish goals for improved function
• Communicate plan of care to referring physician and other Organization professionals
• Teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Organization policy
• Fabricate splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function
• Train patient in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices

Requirements

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Home health experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR
• Auto Insurance

Pay Range

$35.53 - $52.85 /hour
