At Bucktail Medical Center, a Critical Access Hospital in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds, we are dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to our community and the surrounding area. Our 12-bed facility specializes in swing bed and acute care rehabilitation services. We also provide one-on-one outpatient therapy to a diverse population ranging from pediatric to geriatric. We utilize a hands-on, educational, and exercise-based approach to every patient.
Position Overview
As an Occupational Therapist at Bucktail Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in delivering therapeutic services to patients across our various care settings. Primary duties include evaluating and creating treatment plans and supervising a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and goals.
- Maintain electronic documentation records in a timely manner.
- Supervise one or more Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other modalities per best-practice standards and clinical reasoning.
- Monitor and document patient progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in patient conditions.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies for improving functional outcomes.
- Assess and recommend adaptive equipment for safe discharge plans.
- Participate in daily rounding and care plan meetings with patients and an interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of patient care and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist nursing staff with ADL's as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an Occupational Therapy program from an accredited institution.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania.
- Previous experience in a rehab hospital or outpatient clinic.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy techniques, modalities, and adaptive equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Understanding complex medical terminology and conditions at a level that allows for teaching patients and families with simplified concepts and language.
- Familiarity with NetHealth EHR, Trubridge EHR, MS Office suite.
- Adaptable to scheduling changes and with providing creative treatment approaches.

Pay Range
$52.50 - $65.00 per hour based on experience.
