Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Plans rehabilitation programs involving manual arts, practice in prevocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational and recreational activities.
• Aids patients in functioning or adjusting to their handicaps by selecting appropriate activity programs.
• Coordinates activity programs with other therapeutic activities and prepares patients for return to work.
• Teaches patients necessary skills and techniques for participating in activities and evaluates their progress.
• Suggests special equipment for patients to adapt to their work and living environments.
• Lays out materials for patients and cleans and repairs tools at the end of sessions.
• Conducts and participates in training programs.
• Makes and fits adaptive devices such as splints and braces.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college and licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
