Compensation: $80,000 - $115,000 / year

About the role

As an Occupational Therapist, you provide direct patient care working side-by-side with our conservative care team of chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, and more. Our Occupational Therapists are an integral part of our sports medicine team, functioning additionally as liaisons to our medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, and pain management physicians. You will bring a unique role and perspective to the rehab floor of our practice.

Responsibilities

  • Build genuine patient relationships, understand their goals, not just their diagnosis
  • Deliver engaging one-on-one evaluations where patients feel heard
  • Design and execute individualized rehab and fitness-oriented programs to help patients regain lost skills
  • Collaborate directly with MDs, surgeons, and specialists for advanced care
  • Serve as a liaison between the rehab floor and our medical and surgical teams
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in our EMR system
  • Prepare patients confidently for return to work, sport, school, and life
  • Educate caregivers and/or family members of patients on patient needs
  • Maintain professional knowledge and technical progress in order to provide clients with the best treatment program available
  • Evaluate patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health
  • Comply with company rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Support marketing initiatives by attending marketing and outreach events as requested
  • Bring energy to the clinic culture and help set it
  • Stand out as a valuable team member in collaboration with all other healthcare disciplines to help patients get better every day
  • Ensure an outstanding patient experience by becoming part of our fun, energetic, high-octane, and motivating clinic atmosphere
  • Build rapport and relationships with patients and understand their goals
  • Provide engaging one-on-one care with patients, allowing them to feel heard during evaluations
  • Advise on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities
  • Develop physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills
  • Prepare clients for return to work, school, home, etc.
  • Fabricate custom orthosis for various both post-operative and conservative hand and wrist injuries
  • Collaborate with a dynamic healthcare team to facilitate comprehensive patient care, working closely with referring physicians for injections, x-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic procedures
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate clinic evening hours as needed and/or required
  • Act as a liaison between patients and referring physicians, ensuring clear communication and smooth transitions for diagnostic tests and procedures

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an education program accredited by ACOTE or AOTA
  • Certified by the National Board for Certification
  • Valid New Jersey Occupational Therapy License
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and occupational therapy programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, especially the ability to show compassion for patients from all walks of life
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
  • Willingness to challenge patients, other team members, and yourself
