Occupational Therapist Assistant, Home Health

Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care focusing on rehabilitation and functional improvement.
- Empower individuals to overcome physical limitations and enjoy a better quality of life.
- Implement vocational/education programs and activities designed by registered Occupational Therapists.
- Design and adapt equipment and working/living environments to improve function and independence.
- Fabricate devices to assist patients and improve their participation in the program and/or community.
- Provide therapeutic treatment and instruction to patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Report information and observations to the Occupational Therapist and prepare clinical notes.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain documentation as required.
- Instruct patients and family members regarding home programs and care of adaptive equipment.
- Participate in care coordination and discharge planning activities.
- Act as a resource to other health care personnel in meeting patient needs.
- Design community reintegration activities to assist clients in physical reconditioning and psychological adjustment.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) licensure.
- Minimum of six months occupational therapist assistant experience preferred.
- Home Health experience a plus.
- CPR certification.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and patient care protocols.
- Proficient in using medical equipment and technology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
