About the role
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Follow treatment plans
- Chart accurately
- Utilize therapy software
- Assist in patient care and evacuation
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help patients achieve functional progress, improve quality of life, and meet individual therapy goals
- Adhere to policies
- Participate in community health projects
- Maintain current CPR certification
Qualifications & skills
- NBCOT certified
- Registered/licensed in the state
- Completed an accredited occupational therapy program
- Experience preferred but not required; new grads are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, good judgment, and ability to follow regulations and policies
- Ability to perform physical tasks
- Communicate effectively in English
- Good communication, decision-making, body mechanics, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
