Occupational Therapist Assistant

Role Overview

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) collaborates with patients and Occupational Therapists to deliver rehabilitative care, focusing on improving strength, balance, and mobility. This full-time or part-time position involves assisting with exercises, documenting progress, instructing patients and families, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in treatment areas.

Responsibilities

• Support Occupational Therapists in patient care and therapy activities.
• Observe, document, and report patient progress.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and equipment use.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.
• Adhere to healthcare standards and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• At least 1 year of experience as an OTA.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and safety protocols.
• Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and tasks.
