Role Overview
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) collaborates with patients and Occupational Therapists to deliver rehabilitative care, focusing on improving strength, balance, and mobility. This full-time or part-time position involves assisting with exercises, documenting progress, instructing patients and families, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in treatment areas.
Responsibilities
- Support Occupational Therapists in patient care and therapy activities.
- Observe, document, and report patient progress.
- Educate patients and families on exercises and equipment use.
- Coordinate with healthcare team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.
- Adhere to healthcare standards and participate in ongoing training.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- State licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience as an OTA.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and tasks.
