About the role

The University of Washington Medical Center–Montlake – Rehabilitation Therapies is seeking an Occupational Therapist 2 to join our multidisciplinary team. This individual will be responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy evaluation and intervention to patients referred by a licensed provider.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, students, and volunteers
  • Observe and evaluate treatment effects
  • Perform an appropriate evaluation on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per protocol
  • Absorb patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation – make appropriate physician contact for intervention
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Formulate a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate
  • Maintain records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department
  • Consult with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities
  • Assist with orientation and in-service training, participates in guidance and educational programs
  • Assist in evaluation of staff including interviewing and hiring

Required Position Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program AND successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification examination AND 18 months of professional occupational therapy experience
  • OR Equivalent education/experience
  • Licensed by the state of Washington as an Occupational Therapist or has a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy
  • One (1) year of acute care experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of occupational therapy interventions
  • Maintain records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department
  • Consult with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities
  • Aid in evaluation of staff including interviewing and hiring

Compensation, Benefits And Position Details

Pay Range Minimum: $51.37 hourly
Pay Range Maximum $75.70 hourly
