Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Encourages choice, self-advocacy and self-determination of program participants.
- Supervises and trains program participants assigned.
- Oversight of contract task completion, including quality control of materials.
- Assists in the development and implementation of individualized plans for program participants.
Essential & Core Functions
- Develops and implements formal and informal goals.
- Vocational training of group participants as assigned.
- Facilitates alternate activities with participants in the absence of contract work.
- Ensures the welfare and safety of workshop participants.
- Attends meetings and staff development programs as assigned.
- Notifies Program Specialist, Workshop Supervisor, and/or Program Director of participant needs as appropriate.
- Collects and records data on participants' personal and vocational development.
- Prepares daily and bi-weekly production records.
- Aids in shipping and receiving activities, including counting, packing, skidding, and preparing documentation.
- Operates machinery safely, such as motorized and manual forklifts, shrink wrap.
- Covers for lunch and breaks as assigned.
- Participates in time studies as assigned.
- Maintains assigned work area in an orderly, safe, and professional condition.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Prerequisites & Qualifications
- Thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college or university or a High School diploma.
- One year of experience in production and working with people with disabilities.
- FBI clearance, PA criminal history check, and PA child abuse clearance required.
Competencies & Personal Characteristics
- Knowledge of instructional techniques used in the training of persons with disabilities.
- Ability to organize the assigned work area and maintain production.
- Ability to ensure quality control and maintain quality standards.
