Occupational Health Billing Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and process billing for occupational health services accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and submit insurance claims, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines
• Review patient records and billing data for completeness and accuracy before claim submission
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, billing errors, and payment discrepancies
• Collaborate with clinical staff to verify procedures, diagnoses, and patient information necessary for billing
• Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities and correspondence for auditing purposes
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims to optimize revenue collection
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations, insurance policies, and coding standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED AND two to four years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical billing terminology
• Proven experience as medical billing specialist, preferably within occupational health
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT coding, and OSHA regulations related to occupational health
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Bilingual skills are a plus
