Job Responsibilities
- Manage and process billing for occupational health services accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and submit insurance claims, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines
- Review patient records and billing data for completeness and accuracy before claim submission
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, billing errors, and payment discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical staff to verify procedures, diagnoses, and patient information necessary for billing
- Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities and correspondence for auditing purposes
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims to optimize revenue collection
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations, insurance policies, and coding standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED AND two to four years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical billing terminology
- Proven experience as medical billing specialist, preferably within occupational health
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT coding, and OSHA regulations related to occupational health
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Bilingual skills are a plus
