About the Role

This Occupational / Hand Therapist position provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment to adult, geriatric, adolescent, and pediatric patient populations. The therapist completes and maintains all required patient documentation, maintains high patient satisfaction standards, and meets productivity standards. The role requires excellent communication skills and may involve supervising support staff during patient care activities.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate a professional, empathetic, and service-oriented delivery of healthcare to patients and their families.
  • Provide professional and service-oriented service to internal customers such as physicians and employees.
  • Effectively manage external and internal complaints.
  • Promptly respond to patient or internal requests and communicate information to supervisors to resolve service issues.
  • Effectively evaluate, treat, delegate, document, and discharge patients according to service guidelines and accepted practices.
  • Adhere to organization, department, Federal, and State regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Complete required medical education requirements within the scope of practice and organizational role.
  • Participate in program and service improvement initiatives.
  • Complete and maintain documentation of internal competencies.
  • Accurately track individual productivity and meet individual and clinic productivity standards.
  • Complete charging for services and supplies accurately, ensuring documentation matches services provided.
  • Participate in providing education for support staff.
  • Submit charges within organizational standards.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of equipment and seek cost control opportunities when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in the therapy discipline.
  • At least 1 year of Hand therapy experience or a Licensed Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
  • Possess or be eligible for State of Tennessee licensure in the discipline.
  • Current certification in CPR.
