Occupancy Compliance Specialist Assistant

Job Summary

The Assistant Compliance Specialist will monitor Tax Credit communities reporting to Urban Futures to ensure compliance, set asides are accurate, rents are charged correctly, and re-certifications are completed timely. They will work directly with regional and site managers to assist with training for various funding sources.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • 40% - Tax Credit Recertifications: Verify all third-party verification documents, compare to prior year for discrepancies, and approve certifications.

  • 15% - Property Monitoring: Ensure timely recertifications, follow up with site staff, and report any deadline challenges.

  • 15% - Set Asides: Monitor and ensure residents’ allocations comply with regulatory agreements, and charge correct rents for move-ins.

  • 10% - Reporting: Monitor Urban Futures reporting for all funding sources, ensure required forms are uploaded, and assist with reporting.

  • 5% - Tenant Files: Review and approve tenant and recertification files for multiple states, and update income limits in Onesite.

  • 5% - Software Support: Work with Occupancy Manager to resolve software issues related to various programs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience with LIHTC, Bond, CRA, MP, HOME, and Land Use programs requirements.

  • COS and Tax Credit Certificates required.

  • Experience with occupancy compliance preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.

  • Fair Housing knowledge.

  • Experience with Onesite Real Page (preferred).

Compensation

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. The role is considered Full Time non-exempt so will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. The anticipated base pay range for the position is $33.00- $43.00 per hour.
