Observer
Amentum is seeking Observers to perform entry control actions at Offutt Air Force Base and will be responsible for continuous knowledge of the location of employees under his/her control.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adequate observation and physical control of construction workers, including pedestrian personnel, construction vehicles, and oversight of special construction items/equipment.
- Provide oversight of specialty items outside the construction zone, including during transport to and from construction sites.
- Assist with construction zone/site badge issuance and control for personnel requiring entry.
- Understand, apply, and adhere to the principles of the Privacy Act (Title 5 of the U.S. Code, Section 552a) and applicable rules and regulations.
- Understand, apply, and adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) principles for identifying, controlling, and protecting critical unclassified information per National Security Decision Directive Number 298 and DODD 5205.2 (series) DOD OPSEC Program Manual.
- Interact successfully with the general public.
- Apply printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials to assigned duties.
- Maintain poise and self-control under stress.
- Conduct "Stop & Question" of individuals in closed/locked areas, parking lots, and throughout the construction site after hours, weekends, and holidays to prevent criminal activity.
- Construct and write clear, concise, and accurate detailed reports as needed.
- Fully cooperate in testifying or submitting statements in administrative and criminal legal proceedings related to work under this contract.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance.
- At least 2 years’ experience in one of the following: construction security surveillance, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, industrial or government security involving counterintelligence, construction quality assurance, or hands-on supervisory construction experience.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license or permit.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, acts of dishonesty, assault, or battery, or any felony convictions (past or during employment).
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Work Environment
- Field position with no unusual hazards.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, crawling, jumping, and occasional running or sprinting.
- Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear (with or without a hearing aid).
- Constant mental alertness, planning/organizing skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
Additional Requirements
- Physical examination required within 35 days before assignment to duty.
- Ability to obtain any required specialty license for operating equipment or vehicles on-site within 30 days if needed.
Pay
$23.90 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
