OBGYN Physician - Complex Family Planning - Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia
About the role
The ideal candidate is a board certified or eligible physician with fellowship training in complex family planning or significant equivalent experience. Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital is a major referral site for medically and socially complex cases within the tri-state area and is NAF-accredited. The position is CFP-focused with some inpatient generalist responsibilities, including labor & delivery and/or general gynecology inpatient call. Ambulatory responsibilities are primarily CFP-focused and include but not limited to outpatient medical and surgical abortion, pregnancy loss, and advanced contraception care, and early pregnancy confirmation services.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care primarily at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Campus, with potential for additional practice sites.
- Teach medical students and residents in clinical training and supervision.
- Engage in research, quality improvement, and advocacy related to complex family planning.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient generalist responsibilities, including labor & delivery and/or general gynecology inpatient call.
- Offer advanced contraception care, medication abortion, and other complex family planning procedures.
- Support medical education and training of medical students and residents.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree and board certification or eligibility in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Fellowship training in complex family planning or equivalent significant clinical experience.
- Eligibility to obtain a Pennsylvania and New Jersey medical license.
- Expertise in full scope complex family planning care, including dilation and evacuation up to 24 weeks gestation, office uterine aspiration, medication abortion, and complex contraception, including removal of non-palpable contraceptive implants.
- Aptitude for and dedication to medical education including direct teaching of medical students and residents.
- A commitment to promoting health equity and collegiality with other physicians in a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
- Board certified or eligible in Complex Family Planning subspecialty certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Completed a Complex Family Planning fellowship.
- Significant clinical experience and proven track record of excellence in the field.
