OB Technician (SEIU) Job Summary Provides assistance in providing patient care during labor, delivery and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains acceptable levels of supplies, and provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery. This position is represented by SEIU. Education & Experience High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Licenses & Certifications Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Key Responsibilities Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient. Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens. Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient.
