Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department (ED) Technician to provide direct patient care and technical support in a fast-paced emergency care environment. The ED Technician assists physicians and nursing staff with patient assessments, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, patient transport, and monitoring while ensuring high standards of patient safety, comfort, and quality care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an Emergency Department Technician, EMT, or related healthcare program preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, or equivalent certification preferred (as required by facility)
• Previous Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care, examinations, and emergency procedures
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical information
• Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, ECGs, splinting, wound care, and other delegated clinical procedures within scope of practice
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain medical equipment and supplies
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and transfers while ensuring patient safety
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and emergency department protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
