OB Technician, Full-Time (36 Hours), Night Shift
About the role
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as an Obstetrics (OB) Technician in our Obstetrics Department. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity requiring you to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. You will work under the leadership of the Director/Manager of Patient Care Services and the direction of Registered Nurses, participating in intra-operative care in the LDRP/OR suites (including C‑Sections and PPTLs), assisting labor nurses with delivery setup, coaching, post‑delivery care, and obstetrician support. You will also serve as the phlebotomist for the obstetrical unit, performing blood specimen collection on patients and newborns, and conducting infant hearing tests in accordance with Illinois law.

Responsibilities
- Anticipate the needs of obstetricians/surgeons, passing instruments and providing sterile items efficiently.
- Maintain the sterile field and ensure team adherence to aseptic technique.
- Act as assistant by holding retractors, instruments, suction, and cutting sutures as directed by the surgeon.
