OB/GYN Physician
About the role
Progressive Women’s Health, an affiliate of Women’s Health Connecticut, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice in Farmington, CT. The practice serves patients in two office locations: Farmington, CT and Bloomfield, CT, and is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital/Trinity and University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital. Current staffing includes 2 MDs, 1 Certified Nurse Midwife, and 1 APRN. Physicians share equal call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, follow hospitalized patients as appropriate, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Gain competence in the Electronic Medical Record System.
- Submit billing at the time of office visit.
- Diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and identify patient age-specific needs.
Requirements
- Experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
- Active Connecticut medical license.
- Federal and State controlled substance licenses.
- BLS certification.
- Eligible for hospital privileges.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), listening, and customer service skills.
