OB/GYN - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the role

This role involves providing inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care at a general medical and surgical facility in western Kentucky, with approximately 6-7 days of coverage per month and potential for additional shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vaginal deliveries, low forceps deliveries, and manage cesarean sections and complicated deliveries such as breech presentations, multiple births, and abruptions.
• Manage VBACs and repair third and fourth degree lacerations.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage, supporting obstetric and gynecologic cases.
• Exercise prescriptive authority.

Requirements

• Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Ability to handle a variable case load, with adult patient care experience.
• Strong decision-making skills for complex deliveries.

Additional Details

• On-site location with support staff (to be determined).
• Operates in a facility providing emergency, surgical, and cancer care services.
• Role involves 24-hour call duties with a focus on inpatient care.
