OB/GYN Hospitalist (Laborist) – Academic Faculty Opportunity

About the Role

Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, a member of LifeBridge Health, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist (Laborist) to join our collaborative academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The position includes an academic faculty appointment with George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, providing opportunities to teach medical students and OB/GYN residents.

Department Highlights

• Approximately 1,100 annual deliveries
• Recently renovated Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units
• Newly renovated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Collaborative team of experienced OB/GYN faculty, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, labor and delivery nurses, anesthesiologists, and maternal care specialists
• Comprehensive Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) services with consultation for high-risk pregnancies
• Full Gynecologic Oncology service supporting complex gynecologic surgery and obstetric emergencies

• Established OB/GYN Hospitalist (Laborist) program supporting Labor & Delivery

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for Labor & Delivery, OB Triage, and Mother/Baby
• Evaluate and manage obstetric patients requiring hospitalization
• Consult for the Emergency Department and inpatient services
• Evaluate and treat gynecologic emergencies including: miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, early pregnancy complications, and postoperative gynecologic complications
• Manage both low-risk and high-risk labor patients
• Perform: vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, primary and repeat Cesarean deliveries, and emergency obstetric procedures
• Work predictable 12-hour or 24-hour scheduled shifts
• Teach and supervise OB/GYN residents and medical students
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety and physician satisfaction

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Eligible for Maryland medical licensure
• Passion for academic medicine, resident education, and collaborative patient care

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Guaranteed Base Salary: $285,000-$325,000 (compensation is based on experience and includes additional quality and performance incentive opportunities)
