The Program Supervisor performs complex administrative and supervisory work under the direction of the managing attorney/office manager, supporting office management in overseeing team operations, setting performance goals, ensuring compliance with agency policies and customer service standards, providing direct support and guidance to Child Support Officers and Child Support Technicians, and collaborating with leadership and external partners to serve Texas families.

Responsibilities
- Supervise child support officers and support staff, including assigning and monitoring work activities, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, initiating personnel actions, resolving work-related issues, and participating in interviewing and hiring
- Respond to moderately complex inquiries and resolve issues from agency management, government officials, attorneys, parents, advocacy and community groups, and other customers
- Assist the Office Manager in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and directing all field office operations and activities
- Monitor field office performance and take corrective actions to achieve assigned goals and objectives
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and standards while providing superior customer service
- Assess the validity of complaints against the IV-D program with impartiality
- Review and maintain production reports
- Perform related work as assigned
- Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
- Attend work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis
- Experience: Four years of full-time experience in the Child Support Program, management, or supervisory roles
- Knowledge: Child support policies, procedures, and practices; management principles and practices
- Skill in: Using computers for word processing, spreadsheets, and other software; handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines; effective oral and written communication; exercising sound judgment and effective decision-making
- Ability to: Receive and respond positively to constructive feedback; work cooperatively in a professional office environment; provide excellent customer service; work in person at assigned OAG work location; perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG workspace; collaborate, train, and mentor coworkers in person; arrange personal transportation for business-related travel; work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA; lift and relocate 30 lbs.; travel (including overnight) up to 5%
Qualifications
- Program Supervisor III: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; four years of relevant full-time experience
- Program Supervisor IV: All of the above for Program Supervisor III plus one additional year of relevant full-time experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- Experience in the Child Support Program and management
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish
