OA/CTS Specialist - Treasure Island

Responsibilities
- Recruit eligible youth for Job Corps Program.
- Conduct outreach activities in communities, agencies, American Job Centers, and public events.
- Meet departmental and center goals and objectives.
- Conduct orientation and interview with applicants including parent in case of minors.
- Perform applicant files procedures (data entry, scan documents on e-file).
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Cook up with centers to support applicants in travel arrangements.
- Perform Quality Assurance Checks on all applicant files.
- Assess graduates/former trainees' placement readiness, provide appropriate referrals and accompanying support services in accordance with DOL, Center, and Equus requirements.
- Ensure timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs, the military, or further education and training opportunities.
- Promote job development through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies.
- Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property.
- Adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Foster and sustain a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
- Attend all required staff training opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Above average public speaking skills and experience in same.
- Above average verbal and written skills.
- Above average problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Computer literacy; specifically, Internet, e-mail, and Word Perfect/MS WORD.
- The ability to work some evening hours and periodic weekends.
- The ability to travel periodically.
- Four years’ experience working with youths ages 16-24.
- Bachelor’s Degree. Fifteen semester hours of psychology is preferred.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
