About the role

This is a leadership role within our ERP transformation across the United States and Canada as we migrate off SAP and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365, with a target go-live of April 1, 2027. Reporting to the Finance Lead for ERP Transformation, you will lead the order-to-cash (O2C) workstream, owning the design and delivery of the full cycle from customer master data through billing, accounts receivable and deductions to cash application in the new system.

For a consumer goods business, order-to-cash is high in volume and directly affects cash and margin, so getting it right in Dynamics 365 matters. You will make sure customer billing is accurate, that retailer deductions and claims are captured, validated and cleared cleanly, and that the cycle is well controlled and reconciles reliably. You will also keep oversight of the trade marketing spend workstream so that it stays aligned with order-to-cash, while day-to-day delivery of trade and media spend sits with a dedicated specialist. You will work closely with the North America Controller, the Group finance transformation team at corporate headquarters (CHQ), commercial finance, and external implementation consultants. This is a hands-on delivery and leadership role for someone who knows order-to-cash from the inside.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the O2C workstream of the SAP-to-Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation across the United States and Canada, owning design, build, test, data migration, cutover and hypercare for order-to-cash.
  • Design the end-to-end order-to-cash process in the new system, spanning customer master data, pricing and terms, order management, billing and invoicing, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and cash application.
  • Design and configure customer billing and invoicing so that it is accurate across pricing, terms and tax.
  • Establish a controlled deduction and dispute management process, covering the receipt, validation, reconciliation and resolution of retailer claims and short-pays, with the documentation and audit trail needed to recover invalid deductions.
  • Design cash application and the matching of remittances and deductions, including electronic remittance (for example EDI 820), and work with the trade marketing spend workstream so that deductions clear against the right promotional liabilities and agreements rather than a single catch-all account.
  • Maintain oversight of the trade marketing spend workstream to keep it aligned with order-to-cash, while responsibility for its day-to-day delivery sits with a dedicated specialist.
  • Partner with commercial finance, sales operations and the North America Controller to align the design with how the business operates.
  • Coordinate with the Group finance transformation team at CHQ to ensure consistency with the global template and international reporting.
  • Manage external implementation consultants and draw on business-as-usual colleagues for expert insight, and lead testing, user acceptance testing, cutover and post go-live stabilization.

Key challenges: Designing an order-to-cash cycle that bills accurately, clears deductions cleanly and reconciles reliably, while protecting cash and margin through cutover, in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity exists.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities within this role may evolve over the course of the program, which will require flexibility.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience across order-to-cash, ideally within a consumer goods or similar environment.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of billing, accounts receivable, deductions and claims, and cash application, including matching, validation and dispute resolution.
  • Proven experience contributing to or leading an ERP implementation, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong understanding of credit and collections and revenue recognition.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams and managing external delivery partners.
  • FMCG or CPG experience is highly desirable; private equity exposure is an advantage.
  • A relevant degree, with an accounting qualification (for example CPA or CA) considered an advantage.
  • Strong Excel skills, with Power BI an advantage; formal project management credentials (for example PMP or PRINCE2) are a nice to have.

Personal attributes

  • Strong leadership and people skills, able to set clear direction, bring cross-functional teams along and build trust quickly.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, bringing structure and a steady hand to a fast-moving program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to influence finance, commercial and technology stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, able to bridge finance, commercial and the wider business.
