About the role
This is a high-profile leadership role leading the finance workstream of our ERP transformation across the United States and Canada as we migrate off SAP and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365, with a target go-live of April 1, 2027. Reporting to the Finance Director for North America, you will lead the end-to-end design and delivery of the new system across every area of finance, working to clear timetables and milestones toward a successful go-live.
Above all, this is a leadership role. You will set direction for a team of specialists, hold a clear plan through shifting priorities, and bring people with you — across the project team, business-as-usual colleagues, and senior stakeholders — in an environment where ambiguity is a given and a steady, decisive hand makes the difference.
You will lead a team of six functional specialists spanning Record-to-Report/Treasury (RTR), Source-to-Pay (S2P), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Trade and Marketing Spend, Inventory/COGS, and Tax. You will work in very close partnership with the North America Controller and with the Group finance transformation team at corporate headquarters (CHQ), and you will coordinate external implementation consultants and business-as-usual colleagues. This is a delivery and leadership role for someone who can hold a clear plan, manage competing priorities, and bring people with them.
This is a fixed-term engagement of approximately 10 months, aligned to the program timeline through go-live and immediate post-go-live stabilization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance workstream of the SAP-to-Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation across the United States and Canada — driving timetables and milestones toward a successful April 1, 2027 go-live.
- Lead and direct a team of six functional specialists across RTR, S2P, OTC, Supply, Trade/Marketing, and Tax, setting clear direction and holding the team to a successful outcome across design, build, test, data migration, cutover, and hypercare.
- Deliver the implementation across all in-scope finance processes, ensuring the target design is fit for purpose, well controlled, and adopted by the business.
- Partner closely with the North America Controller to align the design with local accounting, control, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with the Group finance transformation team at CHQ to ensure synergy with international reporting — chart of accounts, FP&A, data and analytics, and consolidation — and consistency with the global template.
- Manage external implementation consultants and system integrators, holding them to scope, quality, and timeline, and draw on business-as-usual colleagues for expert insight.
- Define and communicate what “good” looks like, translating the target design into practical, well-adopted ways of working, and lead the change and training effort within finance.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear and timely reporting to the Finance Director and program leadership.
Key challenges
- Leading a complex, multi-workstream implementation to time while managing competing priorities and stakeholders across multiple geographies, in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity exists.
- Migrating off an established SAP environment while protecting business continuity and the integrity of financial reporting through cutover and go-live.
Please note that the duties and responsibilities within this role may evolve over the course of the program, which will require flexibility.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (CPA, CA or equivalent), with at least 10 years of experience gained within international blue-chip organizations.
- Proven track record of leading a full, end-to-end ERP implementation, with at least one being Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge across the core finance process areas — RTR, S2P, OTC, MDM, Inventory, COGS, and Tax.
- Private equity exposure is highly desirable; FMCG experience is ideal but not essential.
- Experience supervising, developing, and getting the best from finance teams and external delivery partners.
- Formal project management credentials (for example PMP or PRINCE2) are a nice to have.
Personal attributes
- Exceptional leadership skills — a natural leader of people who sets clear direction, motivates specialists, coaches business-as-usual colleagues, and builds trust quickly. This is the single most important attribute for the role.
- Highly comfortable dealing with ambiguity, bringing structure, calm, and a steady hand to a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and incomplete information.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders across geographies.
- Results-oriented, with the drive and resilience to carry a complex program through to a successful outcome.
- Collaborative and pragmatic, able to bridge finance, technology, and the wider business.
