About the role
Ameresco is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Field Technician to join our team, focusing on installations and maintenance of commercial HVAC units on Renewable Energy Sites throughout New England. This fast-paced and rewarding role is ideal for responsible, self-directed, and highly motivated individuals willing to travel and grow in the renewable industry.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining commercial cooling systems on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including pipefitting of entire systems and diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components.
- Performing fire alarm testing (training provided by Ameresco).
- Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance.
- Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out-of-season equipment.
- Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call-out services.
- Completing daily work reports accurately and on time.
- Being available for after-hours and weekend callouts/shifts as needed.
- Occasional travel outside of New England as required.
- Performing all other duties as assigned, with specific tasks evolving based on business and client needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with HVAC maintenance in a commercial setting.
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components, including refrigeration systems.
- Fire alarm experience is highly desirable.
- Level 2 or Universal EPA Certificate required at time of hire.
- Effective verbal and email communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Available to travel up to 100%, especially during busy summer months.
- Ability to drive to remote work sites as needed.
- Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and ambient temperatures.
- Physically able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to comply with FCC/EPA/OSHA Regulations.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing issued by state of residence.
Pay
The anticipated hourly range for this role is $37.02–$53.61. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
