Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC equipment and systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with mechanical codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.
- Diagnose system issues using meters, gauges, and specialized HVAC tools; perform necessary calculations such as airflow, load, and refrigerant measurements.
- Operate and maintain service vehicles, tools, gauges, recovery machines, and related equipment.
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding job scope, timelines, and work performed.
- Complete service tickets, documentation, and daily logs accurately and promptly.
- Collect payment for services when required.
- Organize and prioritize daily work to meet project commitments.
- Prepare for upcoming jobs by ensuring proper materials and equipment are available.
- Maintain current industry knowledge through training, certifications, and technical publications.
- Identify and recommend additional services when appropriate.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work environments at all job sites.
Qualifications
- HVAC certification(s) - At least the EPA 608 Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of residential and light commercial HVAC service experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, refrigeration principles, and safe work practices.
- Experience with older systems, legacy equipment, and retrofit scenarios is highly valued.
- Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
- Strong writing and math skills for accurate documentation and service notes.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, team members, and office staff.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with mobile work order apps, time-tracking tools, and basic inventory systems.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders up to 30 ft.
- Work performed in residential homes, commercial buildings, and outdoor environments.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for emergency service needs.
