Lead and support the development and deployment of new technologies and tooling for our global Wind Service OM&U Business, with a focus on robotics and automation. Drive Operations Maintenance & Upgrades lean efforts for new and existing processes to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between Global Wind Services OM&U (Operations, Tooling Centers, EHS) and Wind Engineering (Systems Engineering, ARC, Repair & Installation Technology, Product Line, FPM) for O&M automation and new technology programs.
- Lead global validations and beta periods of tooling/process products by collaborating with Wind Engineering, Product Line, Regional Execution Teams, and EHS to ensure timely and realistic trials. Responsibilities include establishing validation teams, identifying trial sites, managing logistics, creating work instructions, executing trials, and collecting/reporting data.
- Develop and execute action plans following tool/process validations, and lead continuous improvements based on feedback to meet all critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements.
- Establish global training requirements and strategy for new products, including building curricula, defining training levels, leading global training sessions, and ensuring knowledge transfer for use, handling, and maintenance of new tools/automation products.
- Lead full operational deployment, including cost/benefit alignment, procurement planning, logistics, team requisites, maintenance/spare part protocols, training plan execution, and optimized regional operation strategies.
- Provide technical direction, including off-hour remote and on-site support, to resolve technical uncertainties or emergent issues, ensuring tasks are completed safely, with quality, and within standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and lean efforts for new and existing capabilities, including creating detailed Process Safety Reviews (PSRs), leading Kaizens, and developing/deploying new standards to improve SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
- Lead and self-develop new processes/repair solutions and deploy them globally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of Wind industry experience).
- Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, including international travel, while complying with all relevant company travel and tax policies.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred).
- Wind Service troubleshooting and maintenance hands-on experience.
- Experience with GE’s REDP (Renewable Energy Development Program), RELP (Renewable Energy Leadership Program), or FEP (Field Engineering Program) (GE employees only).
- Repair and/or Robotics Engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Proficiency in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Strong technical writing and process documentation abilities.
- Project coordination, change management, influencing, and leadership skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification, or equivalent quality certification.

Pay
For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is $78,800.00 to $131,200.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
