O'Farrell Charter Spanish Bilingual In-Person Tutor '26/'27- Outreach

HeyTutor has partnered with a school in San Diego to hire English and math Spanish bilingual tutors who can assist elementary school students during and after regular school hours. You will work with students of all ages between K-6th grade, helping them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year. A passion for education, consistent tutoring hours, or a desire to support your community are all great reasons to apply.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school site staff
• Prepare the tutoring area for sessions
• Pick up and drop off students from designated areas in the school site, if required
• Take attendance and run lessons through the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Document student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by a manager
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging
• Support students in making positive behavior choices
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside students
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts daily
• Perform any other duties required by the company, manager, or school site

Requirements

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university
• Spanish bilingual preferred
• Tutoring experience (experience working with kids is a plus)
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Must pass an in-person FBI-DOJ background check (provided through HeyTutor)
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Pay

$22.00–$28.00 per hour. Pay depends on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.

Schedule

Must be available between the hours of 8:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Part-time position with 15 hours per week.
