About the role

AWS is seeking a Network Technician to join its infrastructure operations team. This role involves driving the stability and scalability of next-generation networks, assisting in automation and scaling, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build out first level router-aggregates and console networks for new rooms
• Support network scaling projects
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve project obstacles
• Participate in the migration, configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
• Ensure proper racking and stacking of new equipment
• Handle cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
• Specify power and cooling requirements for new equipment
• Up to 60% travel within the geographical work area, with some international travel requested

Requirements

• 1+ years of computer networking experience
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in computer networking
• Experience working with Linux operating systems
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: 1+ years of computer networking experience, 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience, Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, Experience in computer networking, Experience working with Linux operating systems, Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds, Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure, Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system, Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies, Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
