NW Deployment Planner II, GND - Planning, Implementation, Coordination (PIC) Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
The Global Network Delivery organization is looking for a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team is responsible for scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. You will review project forecasts and ensure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.
The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture. You must be highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in managing network deployment projects, networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions is essential.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with an eye on improvement.
- Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
- Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, as well as cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment and analytical skills, prioritizing tasks based on fluctuating needs.
- Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
- Manage core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path.
- Work effectively under time pressure in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment.
Requirements
- 1+ years of project management experience.
- 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience (e.g., network hardware, data center operations).
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience working with customers to diagnose problems and work toward resolution.
- Experience working under pressure in a cross-functional organization.
- Familiarity with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is:
- New Carlisle, IN: $76,900 – $134,600 USD annually
- Herndon, VA: $76,900 – $134,600 USD annually
- Seattle, WA: $80,200 – $134,600 USD annually
