About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The Global Network Delivery organization is seeking a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. This role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across multiple data center locations, ensuring physical infrastructure resources are available for execution.

The ideal candidate will possess a technology background enabling them to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture. You will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to deliver customer capacity to local data center installation and deployment technicians, facilitating smooth capacity execution.

This position offers high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision, driving the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks while assisting in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment is essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
  • Apply knowledge of network cabling and optic types, as well as cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and analytical skills, prioritizing tasks based on fluctuating needs.
  • Coordinate design, project timelines, schedules, and construction milestones.
  • Apply core project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Maintain strong organization and the ability to work effectively under time pressure.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of project management experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
  • Experience with network hardware, including copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, and routers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience working with customers to diagnose problems and drive resolution.
  • Experience working under pressure in a cross-functional organization.
  • Familiarity with common networking terms and cabling infrastructure best practices.

Pay

  • USA, IN, New Carlisle: $76,900.00 - $134,600.00 USD annually.
  • USA, VA, Herndon: $76,900.00 - $134,600.00 USD annually.
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $80,200.00 - $134,600.00 USD annually.

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
