About the Role
We are seeking a Nutritionist I to join our dynamic team. The Nutrition Educator provides nutrition education services to reduce nutritional deficiencies in our client base. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and a willingness to work across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality customer service to clients and team members with dignity and respect.
- Conduct nutrition education services and counseling for WIC participants at moderate to high-risk levels.
- Develop and document individualized nutrition care plans according to established protocols.
- Submit required documentation and billing documents for reimbursement in the EHR.
- Conduct nutrition health education classes and participate in community outreach and promotional activities.
- Assist in managing services, auditing staff files, offering feedback, and conducting CPSP risk charting and staff training.
- Work at multiple sites as needed and assist by phone.
- Support breastfeeding and promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and security.
- Support the mission of Clinica Sierra Vista and the WIC program.
- Aid in certifying staff to WNA status.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Nutrition with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- DPD Verification Statement in nutrition is required.
- Leadership/volunteer experience and involvement in extracurricular activities related to nutrition and dietetics preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Word processing applications.
- Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Member of American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Nutrition with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- DPD Verification Statement in nutrition is required.
- (A.) If bachelor's degree is in Nutrition with GPA of 3.0 and DPD verification statement, must have master’s degree earned or in process. This may be in Nutrition or other related fields.
- Leadership/volunteer experience and involvement in extracurricular activities related to nutrition and dietetics preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Word processing applications.
- Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Member of American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
