Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing food for café/restaurant customers, patients, and special functions.
- Adhere to food safety techniques as per FDA and Health Department standards, including proper hand washing, temperature monitoring, and refrigeration.
- Prepare food back stocks for the following days' orders promptly.
- Ensure items are prepared daily up to established par values and dated with appropriate expiration dates.
- Stock and date items for the Vision Cooler and prepare soups for the following day.
- Prepare oatmeal and sausage gravy and ensure daily soups are panned and ready to cook.
- Check deliveries, store items appropriately, and follow proper thawing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and café facilities, organize storerooms, and clean equipment weekly.
- Maintain department records, document food and refrigeration temperatures, and participate in quality assurance projects.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to a positive work culture.
Qualifications
- High school graduate (or equivalent).
- Required: Food Handler’s Permit obtained within 30 days of employment.
