POSITION TITLE: Nutrition Services Staff
FLSA: Non-Exempt

About the role

Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.
Portion foods into appropriate quantities per recipe or as instructed.
Use techniques outlined in recipe or as instructed (chopping, dicing, mixing, slicing, etc.) to assist with food preparation.
Lift a minimum of 40 pounds to 33 inches occasionally.
Work in a hot, humid environment and a cold, or below zero environment for short periods.

Responsibilities

• Accurately count, weigh, and measure.
• Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks.
• Monitor temperature of food and beverage prior to service and report unsafe temperatures to manager and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed.
• Disassemble serving line and clean serving area.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
• Cashier duties: Make deposits on student accounts, balance drawer and run report, Send out charge notices once a week.

Requirements

• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis.
• Lift a minimum of 40 pounds to 33 inches occasionally.

Qualifications

• Must work in a hot, humid environment.
• Must work in a cold, or below zero environment for short period.

Skills

• Accurate counting and weighing skills.
• Food preparation techniques.
• Temperature monitoring and reporting.
• Customer service and interaction skills.

Pay

Full time is 177 working days per school year, minimum of six hours per day.

Schedule

Full time employees will be assigned to one of the seventeen school kitchens but may be transferred as needed.
