Nutrition Assistant I

About the role

As our Nutrition Assistant I at CHI St. Vincent, you will directly interact with patients and visitors every day, ensuring dining areas are safely sanitized, well-stocked, and food is appropriately prepared. You will serve patients, families, and staff nutritious food that promotes health and healing, set up trays according to patient room service menus while considering individual likes and dislikes, collect dirty trays and dishes from patient care areas, clean them in an automatic dishwasher, and return them to proper storage. Responsibilities

• Ensure all dining areas are safely sanitized, well-stocked, and food is appropriately prepared.
• Serve patients, families, and staff nutritious food that promotes health and healing.
• Set up trays for hospital patients following posted menu requests from the patient room service program, taking individual likes and dislikes into account.
• Collect dirty trays and dishes from patient care areas.
• Clean dishes in an automatic dishwasher and return them to proper storage areas.
• Ensure all food handling areas are sanitized and disinfected for the safety of employees, patients, and guests.
• Exhibit high degree of knowledge in food preparation and food production.
• Accurately portion meals and beverages, paying attention to dietary restrictions.
• Support team members in all areas of food services including cashier, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, etc.

Requirements

• Required: 1 year of Food Service or Customer Service experience.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Cashier experience.

Pay

$15.00 - $19.65 per hour
