Nursing Veterinary Technician - Overnights

About the role

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discussing cases and gathering additional information as necessary
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
• Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education, including home care instructions, medication indications and adverse reactions, and general wellness updates
• Assist DVMs with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures
• Maintain and monitor hospitalized patients, including inducing and monitoring anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for external testing

Requirements

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
• Prior veterinary experience required, with previous nursing or critical care experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay

The proposed schedule is Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 3p-3:30a, and the pay range is $17.00-35.00/hr based on experience.
