Summary
UNM Medical Group is seeking a full-time Nursing Supervisor to support providers, supervise nurses and medical assistants, and manage clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients and providers; designates shift and schedule assignments; assign duties in accordance with the plan of care, patient needs, and within the scope of staff qualifications and licensure/certification/registry.
- Perform supervisory functions including selection, termination, training, performance appraisal, disciplinary counseling and actions, scheduling, and work assignments; supports staff participation in organizational initiatives.
- Delegate and monitor completion of duties.
- Works in collaboration with the healthcare team, implementing and documenting individualized plans of care incorporating age specific considerations and patient/family teaching using a patient centered team approach.
- Aid with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained; assist with or institute emergency measures and administer medication including IV medications as required.
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols - maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with UNMMG clinic standards.
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk; report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
- Participate in achieving and maintaining AAAHC accreditation and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the clinic’s clinical model(s) such as Patient Centered Medical Home, etc.
- Review patient information/reports in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Facilitate and/or participate in patient care conferences, if applicable.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing with 2 years nursing experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of New Mexico.
Qualifications
- Of a Nursing Supervisor
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
- Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
