About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the Shift Manager utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff needs for the unit, collaborates with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patients' needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift using the nursing process and leadership skills.
  • Ensure patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.
  • Assess staffing needs for the unit and collaborate with relevant personnel to meet patient needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years of acute care experience or equivalent.
  • RN skills as described for the designated unit.
  • Two years of experience in Critical Care.
  • Managerial communication skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • Current California RN license.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • PALS certification.

Pay

$53.73 - $85.94 hourly. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
