About the role
The Nursing Supervisor serves as the onsite administrator for the hospital for a defined shift under the general direction of the Senior Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services. The role requires understanding and demonstrating knowledge of the healthcare environment, communication and relationship management, business skills and principals, professionalism, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with emergency, inpatient, and operational leadership to act as an administrative liaison to internal hospital departments and external community resources.
- Collaborates with RN and physician/LIP teams to effectively allocate clinical resources, coordinate patient placement, and manage hospital operations.
- Ensures all clinical staff function within established policies and practice guidelines in accordance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations and standards.
- Initiates and contributes to staff development, professional practice, quality, performance improvement, and patient experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in critical thinking skills.
- Experience demonstrating professional competence, leadership characteristics and supervisory skills.
- Ability to function and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Telemetry experience.
- Computer skills including EHR, Outlook and Microsoft Office.
- Masters degree preferred.
- 2 years managerial / leadership experience preferred.
- Cerner experience.
Qualifications
- BSN.
- Successful completion of orientation including electronic documentation competencies.
- Current Massachusetts RN licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 2 years managerial / leadership experience preferred.
- Cerner experience.
Physical Demands
- Must possess sound dexterity and visual acuity.
- Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment or in emergency situations.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach without restriction.
- Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics.
- May be exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting.
- Must meet annual safety training requirements.
- Risks of exposure: BFEs, electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards, ionizing radiation.
- Works any assigned shift within a 24-hour day.
- Works within hospital policies and procedures to minimize/prevent risk of exposure.
Salary Range
$45.47-$71.02
