Nursing Supervisor (LPN)

About the role

The Nursing Supervisor assists with ensuring the health and well-being of residents by overseeing nursing care during the assigned shift, supervising nursing personnel on each unit, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately to residents’ requests.
• Supervise nursing care services and staff on all units while on duty.
• Actively promote facility safety programs.
• May assume responsibility as the Infection Preventionist Nurse.
• Assume responsibility for nursing services in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing Services and/or Director of Nursing Services.
• Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors to ensure a safe work environment and effective communication.

Requirements

• Possession of a state license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable state.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role.
• Interest or experience in geriatrics.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience with dementia population is desirable.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
