Department NURSING ADMIN - 256010 Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift

Responsibilities

• Oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Nursing Directors are not in the hospital.
• Makes rounds to the nursing units.
• Collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues.
• Addresses and documents practice variations and staff non‑compliance to HR policies.
• Assesses nursing metrics and coaches/mentors staff to improve outcomes when deficits are identified.
• Serves as a patient advocate.
• Communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues.
• Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Department.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (college diploma).
• Experience: Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred; 5 years healthcare/medical nursing general; two years demonstrated leadership responsibilities preferred.
• Certifications & Licensure: RN license in VA; BLS Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) required; ACLS Certification required. New hires must have the appropriate AHA certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications

Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served. FLSA Classification: Non‑exempt, Grade S37. Physical Demands: 20 A Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Patient Care Tech.

Pay

Pay Range: $39.37 – $57.48
