About the Role
The Nursing Student Success Coach leads efforts in NCLEX-RN preparation and identifies students at risk to implement targeted remediation strategies in collaboration with the School of Nursing (SON) Director, Assistant Director, and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized academic coaching and support to nursing students.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and support services to ensure comprehensive academic support.
- Identify students at risk at both the course and program levels using academic performance data and faculty input.
- Track academic progression and maintain detailed records of at-risk students.
- Design and implement individualized success and remediation plans in collaboration with faculty.
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings with students to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Coordinate and implement NCLEX-RN preparation strategies, including workshops, practice exams, and review sessions.
- Monitor student performance on standardized assessments and provide targeted support.
- Develop and coordinate student success offerings such as tutoring, academic workshops, and peer mentoring.
- Analyze academic performance trends across the prelicensure program to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to enhance curriculum and support services based on data-driven insights.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of SON and/or other BCH leadership.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the Director of SON.
- May provide back-up to other staff positions within SON.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
- Active and unencumbered RN or APRN License in Florida.
