Nursing Station Technician - Short Stay Unit - 12hr Shifts
About the role
The Nursing Station Technician position is available at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This role is 48 hours every two weeks on the Day shift, for 12-hour shifts, and every third weekend. Eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assists the professional caregiver in delivering patient care
- Transports patient and/or equipment
- Sets up and maintains patient rooms
- Reorders and stocks supplies
- Captures and coordinates communication on a patient care unit
- Maintains unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharges, and transfers, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts, and ordering tests
- Orders and stocks supplies
- Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care, or acute care setting
- Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
Qualifications
- License/Certification/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants must be able to obtain BLS for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
- Education: Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program. Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program. Skills
Must have excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fast-paced unit.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.
