Nursing Staff Scheduling Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 4-week staffing plans and daily staffing sheets.
- Ensure staffing aligns with resident census, acuity, and compliance standards.
- Adjust schedules for absences, callouts, and time-off requests.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and employee health to forecast staffing needs.
- Career Development: Coordinate onboarding schedules for new hires.
- Maintain accurate records of staff availability, preferences, and commitments.
- Minimize overtime and resolve staffing inconsistencies.
- Support recruitment efforts by identifying staffing gaps.
- Affiliate Support: Assist with payroll/HRIS updates and monitor staff clocked hours.
- Communicate staffing issues to ADON, DON, and nursing supervisors.
- Provide limited administrative support to the medical team.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required. Associate’s degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred. 1–3 years of related experience required; 2+ years in healthcare scheduling or administration preferred.
- Standard driver’s license (Class C or D).
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with long-term care, hospital, or pediatric settings is a plus.
