About the role
The Nursing Recruiter will provide high-volume, full-cycle recruiting support to Allina Health’s Nursing Talent Acquisition team. This short-term coverage position will manage approximately 35–45 active requisitions while supporting upcoming leaves of absence and proactive talent pipeline development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently managing a full recruiting desk in a fast-paced environment and working toward the hospital's goal of filling requisitions within 30 days or less.
Responsibilities
- Manage approximately 35–45 active requisitions, primarily supporting nursing and clinical recruiting needs.
- Provide full-cycle recruiting support from requisition opening through successful hire and onboarding.
- Partner with hiring leaders and Human Resources colleagues to understand business needs, job requirements, competencies, and hiring priorities.
- Develop strategic recruiting and sourcing plans for assigned requisitions.
- Build and maintain proactive pipelines of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs.
- Source active and passive candidates through multiple recruiting channels, tools, and networking strategies.
- Conduct candidate prescreens and interviews while evaluating experience, education, skills, abilities, licensure, and other job-specific qualifications.
- Develop effective recruiting and interviewing plans for open positions.
- Provide consultative guidance to hiring leaders regarding talent availability, sourcing strategies, hiring timelines, and candidate selection.
- Make salary recommendations and assist with offer negotiations.
- Maintain an accurate, timely, and compliant recruiting process within Workday.
- Coordinate and support background checks, drug testing, references, and successful onboarding activities.
- Utilize workforce plans, recruiting data, pipelines, and analytics to influence recruiting strategies and hiring decisions.
- Work toward Allina Health’s goal of filling requisitions within 30 days or less.
- Quickly learn and independently apply established policies, contract/union guidelines, and hiring processes.
- Participate in Talent Acquisition projects, process improvements, and change initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing, prescreening, interviewing, and knowledge of employment law.
- Demonstrated full-desk recruiting experience.
- Experience managing multiple requisitions and competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Strong active and passive candidate sourcing skills.
- Ability to utilize recruiting data, pipelines, and analytics to influence recruiting strategies.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and successfully manage a remote recruiting desk.
- Strong consultative, communication, and relationship-building skills with hiring leaders and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage pressure and maintain productivity while handling a broad, high-volume requisition load.
- Demonstrated ability to develop pipelines for difficult-to-fill positions while maintaining candidate quality.
- Ability to ramp quickly, take ownership of an established recruiting desk, and contribute immediately with limited day-to-day guidance.
