Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) is an award-winning, high-quality, acute-care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission. It offers a variety of services including emergency services, general and robotic surgery, maternity care, breast health, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, stroke, sleep medicine, urology, and wound care. The medical staff includes over 750 physicians and allied health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Emergency Room Director on implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice.
• Directs, supervises and evaluates the performance of the nursing staff.
• Participates collaborates with the Emergency Room Director on implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
• Communicates and interacts effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assists in ensuring assigned units are in compliance with regulatory standards and appropriateness of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), preferred.
• Certifications in specialty, preferred.
• Previous leadership/management experience, required.
• Current active Florida or Compact Nursing License.
• Knowledge of human resources management, program development, fiscal management, computer softwares, and accrediting agency standards, required.
• At least 3 years of experience in area of practice.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at time of hire.
• Additional certifications required at start date or intrafacility transfer: ACLS, PALS, CPI within 90 days of start date, NIH within 90 days of start date or prior to completion of orientation - whichever is first.
