Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for daily operations by conducting leadership rounds, overseeing departmental performance, developing and implementing policies, managing annual performance reviews (APRs), and supporting the growth and development of nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary caregivers to ensure high-quality patient care from admission through discharge while advancing Cleveland Clinic's commitment to exceptional patient outcomes and caregiver excellence.
  • Manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
  • Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs and mix.
  • Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination process and develop strategic plans.
  • Actively promote staff and self-development.
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
  • Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products.
  • Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes.
  • Aid in the development and monitoring of budget.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN), Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience.
  • High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications: EPIC, Workday and UKG experience, Prior Leadership or Supervisory (ANM or charge nurse) experience, Technology experience (radiology platforms, teams), Microsoft suite, zoom, vendor platforms, Cesia.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
