Nursing Lab Coordinator- Part time

Essential Duties

• Affords students the opportunity to learn selected nursing skills through demonstrations.
• Monitors and tutors students during their practice performances in the laboratory.
• Creates a conducive learning environment to enhance students' conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborates with departmental faculty to devise strategies that boost students' ability to meet clinical skill requirements.
• Maintains the laboratory, orders necessary supplies, manages inventory, and procures anatomical training aids, multimedia supplies, including computer software and videotapes.
• Supplies medical equipment and supplies needed for the demonstration of clinical procedures.
• Records student attendance and skill performance in the laboratory.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a current Registered Professional Nursing license in the state of Illinois.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in clinical nursing practices.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer usage is required.
• Must possess supervisory skills, effective communication with a diverse student body, and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff.
• Self-directed, innovative, and capable of assessing current operations to develop practical action programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students.
• Able to work well within a culturally diverse environment with the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $33.00 - $40.00 Per Hour
Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
