Tulane University Program of Nursing is seeking a full-time nurse educator in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. Candidates will receive an academic appointment at Tulane University School of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, based on previous academic accomplishments and experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop instructional material in a hybrid format for baccalaureate-level complex medical-surgical nursing courses in a hybrid BSN program with both face-to-face and online components.
- Demonstrate effective teaching at the collegiate level, including active and engaged learning strategies.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure alignment with professional standards and best practices in nursing education.
- Support departmental initiatives to advance the missions of the Program of Nursing and the School of Medicine.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students.
- Evaluate student clinical performance according to established criteria and course objectives.
- Advise students on academic curricula.
- Demonstrate the scholarship of teaching through meaningful involvement in presentations and/or publications annually.
- Provide service to the University, community, and profession.
Requirements
- Eligibility for a Louisiana RN license.
- DNP or PhD degree in nursing (consideration given to related fields).
- 4 years of clinical experience in med/surg nursing, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
- A strong background in nursing education.
- Excellent clinical skills and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
