Responsibilities

  • Teach at least 36 credits annually in the classroom and clinical settings.
  • Evaluate student learning through various assessment tools.
  • Develop and implement the nursing education program's philosophy and objectives.
  • Evaluate and revise the curriculum regularly.
  • Mentor students and serve as an advisor, contacting advisees at least once a semester.
  • Communicate with clinical agencies and maintain records of student performance.
  • Grades clinical papers and provides timely feedback.
  • Facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge to clinical practice.
  • Participate in program policy development and revisions.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a professional registered nurse.
  • Current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure.
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in a nursing specialty.

Qualifications

  • Competence to teach a given course and develop admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
  • Experience in nursing practice, continuing education, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
