Responsibilities
- Teach at least 36 credits annually in the classroom and clinical settings.
- Evaluate student learning through various assessment tools.
- Develop and implement the nursing education program's philosophy and objectives.
- Evaluate and revise the curriculum regularly.
- Mentor students and serve as an advisor, contacting advisees at least once a semester.
- Communicate with clinical agencies and maintain records of student performance.
- Grades clinical papers and provides timely feedback.
- Facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge to clinical practice.
- Participate in program policy development and revisions.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a professional registered nurse.
- Current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in a nursing specialty.
Qualifications
- Competence to teach a given course and develop admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Experience in nursing practice, continuing education, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
